When this listed 16th-century country house came to our attention it was in poor condition and badly restored. We relished the challenge to restore its simple beauty while producing a family residence to house contemporary living.

The two-story extension reveals the oak frame of the original back wall of the house within the large open plan kitchen; the opening of a blocked door gives a breath-taking cross-section through the whole house.
